What makes it one of the most serene zones in Jawai safari is the dramatic landscape of clustered granite hills, rocky caves, and wide-open scrubland bordering the local community habitat. When tracking around the Bera ridges in the afternoon, you can easily spot the golden spotted cats. This is prime time when leopards emerge from their daytime caves to stretch.

2. Sena Village and Hills 

Another one of the best zones where our tourists love to roam around to view the majestic Jawai leopards in their natural habitat. Expansive granite structures combined with deep, secure cave systems work as apartments for the leopards, where they live comfortably with their cubs. Here you can see the complete family, as it is one of the best places to see leopard cubs playing around their mothers.  

3. Devgiri Temple Area

Morning Vs Evening Safari – What is the best time to visit Jawai Leopard Safari?

Let me surprise you with another fact! Morning vs. evening safari: both are the best for the leopard safari in the granite hills of Jawai. 

In the morning, you are catching cats on their way home. They hunt through the night, mostly down in the fields and along the edges of the villages, and around first light they start moving back uphill towards the caves. Mothers with young often let them sit out at the cave mouth for an hour before the rock gets hot, and that is the best chance anyone gets at a relaxed family sighting. Later, after 9:00 o’clock, the granite hills start warming up, and the leopards usually head to the caves for shelter. That is only in summer; in winter you can see them till noon. 

Evenings run the other way. The cats come out, stretch, groom, and settle on an exposed rock to watch the fields below for movement. These are longer, calmer sightings, and the light sitting on the granite around five is what most people come here to photograph.

In winter, from about November to February, the rock is cold at dawn and warms slowly through the morning. Cats are in no hurry to get underground. It is normal to find a leopard still sitting out at nine or half past nine. 

From March onwards, the rock heats fast, and by eight in the morning the cats are already gone into the caves. Your morning window shrinks to the first hour of light, and you need to be at the hill for it rather than driving towards it.
